AMWELL - Division of McNish Corporation
AMWELL, division of McNish Corporation, is dedicated to providing a clean water environment by specializing in the manufacturing and marketing of high quality water and wastewater treatment equipment. Amwell serves the water and wastewater equipment market through a national representative organization which is supported by a strong sales, engineering and manufacturing support base, where quality and customer service are emphasized. This assures that Amwell Customers receive first-rate products, the foremost reason for their success.
The company has an impressive history of uninterrupted service to the industry dating back to 1868 when it was founded as American Well Works, located in Aurora, Illinois. American Well Works began producing water and wastewater treatment equipment in the 1930's, and by the mid-1940's, had established a complete line of process equipment applicable to all phases of treatment. Since then, additions or changes to the product line have kept pace with technological
developments in the industry.
In 1967 Keene Corporation, desiring a partner in the Pollution Control Field, purchased and operated the company out of Aurora as the Water Pollution Control division. The division operated as part of Keene Corporation until January 1984, when it became a division of McNish Corporation, the parent company of Walker Process Equipment, and E & I Corporation. The name was changed to AMWELL - a contraction of American Well. Amwell's long history as a major equipment supplier is a result of the commitment made to quality and innovation for the industries served. Amwell, like its predecessor companies, continues to incorporate quality technological developments into its product line to better serve the water and wastewater field.
Their very lengthy and impressive equipment installation list, measuring in the thousands, is a testament to the Amwell's dedication to equipment engineering and manufacturing excellence.
In October 2008, Amwell entered into a collaborative and cooperative engineering, sales and marketing agreement with Environmental Resources, Inc. for the creation of DuraMax Cast Stainless Steel Chain Products, resulting in a world-class, high quality line of DuraMax Bar Screens, Grit Collectors, and Rectangular Collectors for the municipal and industrial water, wastewater and stormwater treatment industries. This agreement includes an aftermarket service line of DuraMax repair, replacement and retrofit component upgrades for existing equipment installations, all with full 10-year chain and sprocket warranties.
